“ Call me Ishmael, the fish was as like a white whale on a plate. Fantastic food and great service, can highly recommend. Massive portions of chips and we only had regular size portions Alcoholic drinks in a chippy, something different Slight wait for the food but it was school half term so the place was packed, the waiting staff were brilliant and couldn’t apologise enough. Truly great value for money and we’ll definitely visit again next time we come to York ”

“ I was pleasantly surprised to learn that you can dine upstairs as this is not clear from the street. I had a haddock and chips to take away and it was first class. A little on the pricey side but I expected that. It was top class. Great fish, fresh, and well done chips. You can add salt and vinegar yourself at the counter which is very helpful. Staff could be more friendly but it's an excellent chip shop. I'll be back! Highly recommended! ”

There is a lot of seating and we were greeted by lovely friendly staff who met us choose a table of our liking. The decor is calming and it’s a clean restaurant with a family friendly ambience. The menu was rondel, lots of options. We went for the classic fish and chips option. Our drinks were great and I LOVED the bottomless chips!!! We also had onion rings, fresh and scrumptious. It was all as good as it gets! our swerved was v sweet, hence the photo!! ”

Pretty good price for the city centre as well, you can get a fish supper for under a tenner if you’re having it to take away. Very tasty battered sausage supper too. The service was fast and efficient as well, which is great because it can get busy at weekends. ”
